Introduction
We built this infrared quartz lamp to be a straight-up upgrade for your existing halogen heating setup. It’s 380mm long and runs at 1000W, so you can swap it in without rewiring the machine or messing with the reflector. The whole point? Give you more heat, for longer, in exactly the same space.
What’s really going on under the hood
That 1000W rating wasn’t picked at random. It’s about giving you predictable heat along the length of the lamp. And at 380mm, the filament and quartz envelope match the size of standard halogen lamps—so it drops right into the same brackets and reflectors. Voltage is all about what your machine expects. Many industrial heaters run on higher supply voltages to keep the current down on the branch circuit. If your heater is designed for a 400V-class setup, the lamp has to match that electrical profile. If it doesn’t, you can run into wonky control, early failures, or stress on the control gear. This lamp is built to fit those system needs. And the length matters more than it sounds. It sets where the heat is focused and how the lamp sits in the housing. Too short, and the heat misses the mark. Too long, and it won’t clear the terminals or the housing.
Materials, design, and the small details that matter
We chose quartz because it can handle high heat and keeps its shape when things heat up and cool down quickly. Inside, the halogen cycle helps keep the filament cleaner by putting evaporated material back where it belongs. That’s why the output stays steady over time—no slow fade like you get with basic incandescent lamps. The connector choice—usually R7s or SK15—isn’t accidental. Those double-ended pins hold the lamp securely and give you reliable contact every time. They also make the replacement feel almost effortless: line up the pins, seat the lamp, and you’re done. One thing to keep in mind: higher power density means the socket and wiring run hotter. Make sure your terminals are rated for the temperature and current, and keep the lamp ends free of grease and crud.
Who it’s for—and what you actually get
This setup is made for industrial heating where space is tight and uptime is everything—think plastic processing, coating drying, and focused process heating. Infrared delivers heat straight to the target, so you get fast response. And you get a longer service life compared with basic halogen designs. If you’re the one keeping the line running, the win is simple: fewer interruptions when a lamp needs replacing, heat output that stays consistent, and less recalibration after a change. If your line already uses halogen heating lamps, this infrared quartz replacement is built to keep the same installation geometry while giving you a more stable thermal profile.
