The fit and the feel The 550mm length isn’t random. We spent a lot of time balancing that 850W load across the whole tube. Why? Because nobody wants “hot spots.” If you’re running a curing or drying line, uneven heat is a nightmare—it warps your product and ruins your day. With this, you get a steady, linear flow of heat from end to end. What’s happening inside Inside a high-purity quartz envelope, there’s a tungsten filament. We use a halogen cycle to keep that filament fresh, which means the lamp lasts longer and doesn’t lose its punch over time. And it’s fast. Like, “flip the switch and it’s hot” fast. The quartz glass is the secret sauce here. It lets short-wave infrared radiation pass straight through. A few things to watch out for When you’re wiring this in, just make sure your controllers can keep up. These lamps react instantly to voltage changes, so they’re a bit more “twitchy” than standard heaters. But here is the most important part:be careful with the glass. Quartz is tough, but it hates fingerprints. If you touch the tube with oily fingers during installation, that spot will overheat and the glass will crack the moment it hits full power. It’s a heartbreaking way to kill a brand new lamp. Use lint-free gloves. Always. Also, give the tube some room to breathe in your brackets. Metal expands when it gets hot, and if the tube is clamped too tight, it’ll snap under the pressure. Give it a little wiggle room, and you’re good to go.
