These lamps dump concentrated energy right where you need it, so inks and adhesives dry on glass, metal, and plastic—without turning the rest of the machine into a sauna. They wake up quickly, run steady, and don’t make you wait around for warm-up. That’s the whole point: your production keeps rolling.
The Power Behind the Punch
Here’s the thing about these lamps: they’re small, but they’re seriously intense. A typical unit hits 2500W on a 400V supply, packed into a 300mm tube. That kind of power density means cure times shrink and line speeds can climb. And because it’s 400V, the current draw is lower than lower-voltage options, so your wiring and contactors don’t get worked as hard. But—and this matters—that concentrated heat means your cooling system has to be set up right. Give the lamp clean airflow and proper heat management, and it behaves. Neglect that, and you’ll feel it in the ambient temperature around the machine.
What’s Inside, and Why It Works
The heart of the lamp is a quartz envelope filled with halogen gas. That combo lets the filament run hot while resisting blackening over time, so output stays consistent. We add a reflective coating to push infrared energy forward, so less heat gets wasted sideways. And the shortwave spectrum? It delivers fast, penetrating heat that dries the surface quickly without overdoing it on the layers underneath. Installation is simple, too. The R7s base is a straightforward two-contact design, so it’s easy to wire and easy to swap when it’s time for replacement. It also keeps the lamp aligned in the reflector, so the focal point stays where you want it.
On the Floor, Where It Counts
When you’re running screen printing, the lamp has to match the pace. These lamps respond almost instantly when you start and stop curing—no lingering, no lag. The focused heat profile helps reduce warping on thin substrates, and it keeps ink adhesion consistent across the whole print. These lamps are built tough enough for production shops, but even tough gear needs basic care. Keep airflow clean, keep alignment right, and you’ll avoid hot spots. Set them up correctly, and you get repeatable thermal performance and a straightforward drop-in replacement when it’s time for a new one.
