If you need to move a lot of heat, fast, without wasting time warming up the air around your project, these lamps are your best bet. We designed them to blast concentrated infrared energy straight into the material. No fluff, just raw heat where you actually need it. The Power Side of Things Here’s the thing: sticking 1000W into an R7s frame creates a massive amount of heat in a very small space. It’s intense. Because of that, you’ve got to be careful with your wiring. Make sure your sockets can actually handle the current draw, or you’re going to end up with a melted housing—and that’s a mess nobody wants. These run on standard mains voltage, but the filament gets incredibly hot to hit that specific infrared spectrum. If you try to under-power them, you’ll lose that deep penetration you need for industrial drying or curing. It just won’t work. Why we use Quartz and the R7s Fit We went with the R7s base—that linear pinch connector—because it’s just easier. You can pop a new one in without having to mess around with soldering. It’s a simple mechanical fit that keeps everything aligned even when the lamp expands from the heat. As for the tube? It’s hard quartz. We don’t use regular glass because quartz doesn’t crack when you flip the switch on and off rapidly. It takes the shock. One quick tip on length: a shorter tube pushing 1000W is way more aggressive than a longer one. It’s a trade-off. You get more intensity, but you run the risk of creating “hot spots” that could ruin your workpiece. Putting Them to Work You’ll usually see these tucked inside PET blowing machines, shrink tunnels, or big industrial ovens. They’re for those moments when you need a material to hit a precise temperature in a matter of seconds. Since it’s radiant heat, it hits the target instantly. But wait—don’t forget about your reflectors. 1000W of energy is a lot, and it puts a ton of pressure on your mirrors. If your reflectors are dirty or pitted, you’re throwing away maybe 30% of your heat efficiency. Keep them clean. If you don’t, your lamp is going to burn out way faster than it should.
